Gents, Dads, and all…
Spring has sprung, bahhh byeeee boots! Hello sneaks and for some, boat shoes. Sperry, a New England, and preppy staple dominates this space. We have had our fair share, for sure. However, I am squarely in a Stan Smith only zone….. until I saw this exclusive J.Crew collabo.
Sperry x BIONIC’s have partnered up to update a true summer classic. Pops of color, stunning design, and unique and much-needed use of recycled material, all make these a special New England shoe power move.
As described by J.Crew themselves….
“Sperry, the New England company that invented the boat shoe in 1935, works with partners Waterkeeper Alliance and BIONIC to create styles using plastic saved and recycled from oceans. Each pair of these shoes is woven from, on average, five recycled plastic bottles. Striking a balance between casual and polished, these extra-lightweight slip-ons—available exclusively at jcrew.com—are great for lazy summer days spent on deck or on land.”
For me, white shoes scream summer, pair them w/ jeans, shorts, rolled khakis, a suit even. So these just add an additional layer of style and “custom” to the dad wear. I don’t even have a boat…. nor do I really like them. But damn do I love these.
Damn you J.Crew and your exclusive collaborations.
Happy Spring! Happy Boating (or you know, slip on boat shoes at the bar…)
